Arjuna’s advance; deaths of Śrutāyudha and Sudakṣiṇa
प्रत्यक्ष तस्य हव्यानि प्रतिगृह्नन्ति देवता:
pratyakṣaṃ tasya havyāni pratigṛhṇanti devatāḥ
Nārada said: “For him, the gods themselves visibly accept the sacrificial offerings.” The statement underscores that when a person’s conduct and ritual integrity are aligned with dharma, divine approval is not merely hoped for but is understood as effectively present—affirming the moral power of rightful worship even amid the harsh realities of the war narrative.
नारद उवाच
Rightful action and sincere, dharma-aligned worship are believed to draw unmistakable divine acceptance; ethical integrity gives ritual its true efficacy.
Nārada is describing a person whose offerings are so valid and meritorious that the gods are said to accept them ‘directly’—a narrative marker of exceptional religious and moral standing within the broader Drona-parvan context.
