Educational Q&A

Even when one has power or a role that could harm others, dharma demands restraint and compassion; taking life—especially of the helpless and grieving—is portrayed as adharma, and one should seek divine guidance to avoid wrongdoing.

Nārada addresses the Lord of the gods, expressing moral inability to seize the lives of lamenting beings and asking to be protected from committing an unrighteous act.
