Encirclement and counter-strikes of Abhimanyu

वेगेनाभ्यपतत्‌ क्रुद्ध: सैन्धवस्य महद्‌ बलम्‌ | यह देख अर्जुनकुमारने अपने पैने बाणोंद्वारा उन सबको घायल करके भगा दिया और क्रोधमें भरकर बड़े वेगसे जयद्रथकी विशाल सेनापर धावा किया

sañjaya uvāca |

vegenābhyapatat kruddhaḥ saindhavasya mahad balam |

Sañjaya said: Enraged, he rushed forward with great speed and fell upon the mighty host of Jayadratha (the Sindhu king). Having seen the enemy array, Arjuna’s son struck them with sharp arrows, wounded them, drove them back, and then—burning with wrath—charged the vast army protecting Jayadratha. The moment underscores the warrior’s duty in battle: decisive action against adharma, yet propelled by intense personal grief and righteous resolve.
