Sañjaya said: Eager to achieve their aim, the Pandava warriors—having drawn up their forces in battle-array and ready to strike—rushed forward together. Driven by resolve and protective duty, they surged into the formation by the very path earlier opened, intent on entering the enemy’s vyūha to safeguard Abhimanyu and to deliver decisive blows.

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma expressed as coordinated courage and protective responsibility: warriors do not act as isolated heroes but as a disciplined collective, entering danger to defend a threatened ally and to uphold their pledged duty in war.
Sañjaya reports that the Pandava leaders and allied kings, with their troops arranged in battle formation, charge forward together. Their immediate aim is to penetrate the enemy’s formation via the known entry-route and to protect Abhimanyu while striking the opposing forces.
