Drona Parva, Adhyāya 32

Sañjaya said: Thus there arose a tumultuous roar directed toward Durdharṣa’s chariot. From every side, near Droṇācārya’s chariot, a dreadful cry kept resounding—“Charge! Seize them! And, fearless, cut down the foes!”—revealing how the battle’s frenzy overwhelms restraint and turns courage into relentless aggression.

The verse highlights the psychological force of war: collective cries and momentum can intensify violence, testing a warrior’s discernment. It implicitly contrasts mere fearlessness with dharmic restraint—courage is praised, yet the scene warns how easily battle fervor can eclipse ethical reflection.
Sañjaya reports that a thunderous uproar rises around the chariots—especially near Droṇa’s position—urging warriors to rush, capture, and strike down enemies. The focus is on the surrounding clamor and the coordinated push of fighters toward Durdharṣa’s chariot.
