Droṇa-parva
ततः: पुनर्दक्षिणत: संग्रामश्चित्रयोधिनाम्
tataḥ punar dakṣiṇataḥ saṅgrāmaś citrayodhinām
Sañjaya said: Then again, on the southern flank, a fierce battle arose among warriors of varied and striking prowess—signaling how the struggle kept shifting from one quarter to another, drawing all sides deeper into the relentless demands and moral strain of war.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the instability and all-consuming spread of war: conflict shifts direction repeatedly, testing discipline and dharma as warriors are drawn into ever-new fronts without respite.
Sañjaya reports that fighting flares up again on the southern side of the battlefield, where many notable and varied warriors engage in combat.
