आत्मानं त्वामात्मनो5नन्यबोधं विद्वानेवं गच्छति ब्रह्म शुक्रम् । अस्तौषं त्वां तव सम्मानमिच्छन् विचिन्वन् वै सदृशं देववर्य । सुदुर्लभान् देहि वरान् ममेष्टा- नभिष्टृत: प्रविकार्षीक्ष मायाम्,आप जीवात्मासे अभिन्न अनुभव किये जानेवाले सबके आत्मा हैं, ऐसा जाननेवाला विद्वान् पुरुष विशुद्ध ब्रह्मभावको प्राप्त होता है। देववर्य! मैंने आपके सत्कारकी शुभ इच्छा लेकर यह स्तवन किया है। स्तुतिके सर्वथा योग्य आप परमेश्वरका मैं चिरकालसे अन्वेषण कर रहा था। जिनकी भलीभाँति स्तुति की गयी है ऐसे आप अपनी मायाको दूर कीजिये और मुझे अभीष्ट दुर्लभ वर प्रदान कीजिये
ātmānaṃ tvām ātmano 'nanyabodhaṃ vidvān evaṃ gacchati brahma śukram | astauṣaṃ tvāṃ tava sammānam icchan vicinvan vai sadṛśaṃ devavarya | sudurlabhān dehi varān mameṣṭān abhiṣṭutaḥ pravikārṣīkṣa māyām ||
Nārāyaṇa said: “The wise person who knows You as the Self—understood as non-different from one’s own inner Self—thus attains the pure, stainless state of Brahman. O best of gods, desiring to honor You, I have offered this hymn of praise. Long have I sought the One truly worthy of perfect praise, the Lord who is Your equal in excellence. Now, being duly praised, withdraw Your veiling power (māyā) and grant me the rare boons I desire.”

Realization of the Lord as the non-different inner Self (ātman) leads the wise to the pure state of Brahman; devotion and praise culminate in a request for the removal of māyā (the veil) and the granting of rare boons.
Śrī Nārāyaṇa speaks in a devotional-philosophical register: He affirms the fruit of non-dual knowledge, explains that the hymn was offered to honor the supreme deity, and then petitions the deity to withdraw māyā and bestow difficult-to-obtain desired boons.
