Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical danger of darpa (arrogant pride) in warfare: even great prowess and tejas can be rendered futile when pride blinds judgment, and the narrative frames pride as something destined to be cut down by an appointed counter-force.

Sañjaya reports a taunting or challenging statement: the addressee is urged to display all remaining power against the speaker, but is warned that Dhṛṣṭadyumna—already marked as Droṇa’s killer—will ultimately break the addressee’s arrogance.
