तत उत्स्रष्टकामांस्तानस्त्राण्यालक्ष्य पाण्डव: | भीमसेनोडब्रवीद् राजन्निदं संहर्षयन् वच:,राजन्! तब उन सबको अस्त्र त्यागनेके लिये उद्यत हुआ देख पाण्डुनन्दन भीमसेनने उनमें हर्ष और उत्साह पैदा करते हुए इस प्रकार कहा--
tata utsraṣṭa-kāmāṁs tān astrāṇy ālakṣya pāṇḍavaḥ | bhīmaseno ’bravīd rājan idaṁ saṁharṣayan vacaḥ ||
Seeing those warriors poised to cast aside their weapons, the Pāṇḍava Bhīmasena, O King, spoke words meant to rouse their spirits—stirring them from hesitation into renewed courage and resolve amid the demands of righteous battle.
संजय उवाच
In moments of crisis, abandoning one’s duty out of fear or despair is countered by leadership that rekindles courage and steadiness. The verse highlights the ethical need to uphold resolve in a righteous cause and the responsibility of strong leaders to restore morale.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīma notices certain fighters preparing to throw down their weapons. To prevent collapse of spirit, Bhīma speaks an energizing, encouraging address meant to inspire them back into determined action.
