Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes reciprocity and mutual recognition in relationships: friendship and goodwill are to be mirrored—how one side regards the other should be returned in the same spirit, aligning with dharmic conduct in speech and alliance.

Sañjaya reports a statement affirming mutual friendship between two parties, framing their relationship as balanced and acknowledged on both sides—language typical of negotiation, reassurance, or alliance-maintenance amid the tensions of the war narrative.
