गत: स वीरलोकाय पिता मम न संशय:
gataḥ sa vīralokāya pitā mama na saṁśayaḥ
Sañjaya said: My father has gone to the realm of heroes—of this there is no doubt. The statement frames death in battle as a passage to an honored destiny, affirming courage and duty amid the moral gravity of war.
संजय उवाच
The verse affirms a dharmic-warrior ideal: a valiant death is not merely loss but a transition to honored status (vīraloka). It also models steadiness of conviction—speaking with certainty even amid sorrow.
Sañjaya reports that his father has departed (i.e., has died) and declares with confidence that he has attained the heroes’ realm, interpreting the death through the ethical lens of battlefield honor.
