sa-ādibhiś ca hataiḥ śūraiḥ saṅkīrṇā vasudhābhavat |

Sañjaya said: The earth there became choked and strewn with the fallen—covered with the wreckage of war and the bodies of slain heroes. Broken chariots with shattered wheels, great standards cast down, and dead mounted warriors lay scattered, showing how the frenzy of battle reduces even the mighty to ruin and turns the field into a grim testimony of adharma’s devastation.
