संजय उवाच एवमुद्धर्षितो द्रोण: कोपितश्न सुतेन ते । समन्युरब्रवीद् राजन् दुर्योधनमिदं वच:,संजय कहते हैं--राजन्! जब इस प्रकार आपके पुत्रने द्रोणाचार्यको उत्साहित करते हुए उनका क्रोध बढ़ाया, तब वे कुपित होकर दुर्योधनसे इस प्रकार बोले--
sañjaya uvāca evam uddharṣito droṇaḥ kopitaś ca sutenate | samanyur abravīd rājan duryodhanam idaṃ vacaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: O King, when your son thus roused Droṇa and further inflamed his anger, Droṇa—now indignant—addressed Duryodhana with these words. The scene underscores how provocation and wounded honor can drive even a revered teacher toward harsher resolve amid the moral pressures of war.
