Vyāsa said: “Because of you alone, dear son, that Rākṣasa has been slain in battle. Do not be angry, O best of the Bharatas, and do not let your mind sink into grief.”
व्यास उवाच
Vyāsa urges emotional restraint in the midst of war: do not be consumed by anger or grief, and recognize causality without collapsing into lamentation—an ethical call to steadiness (dhairya) while facing the consequences of battle.
Vyāsa addresses a Bharata hero, stating that an (unnamed) Rākṣasa has been killed in the fighting due to that hero’s agency, and he counsels him not to react with rage or sink into sorrow.
