Transliteration

mahatyā senayā yukto duryodhanam upāgamat | rākṣasānāṁ virūpāṇāṁ sahasraiḥ parivāritaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Accompanied by a vast army, and surrounded by thousands of grotesque, misshapen rākṣasas, he approached Duryodhana. The scene underscores how the war draws in ever more fearsome and unruly forces, intensifying the moral darkness and peril of the conflict.
