Sañjaya said: Having freed himself from Ghaṭotkaca’s restraint, the son of Jāṭāsura rose again and, gathering speed, rushed straight at Ghaṭotkaca. The moment underscores a warrior’s refusal to yield in battle—persistence and counter-attack arising from the instinct to survive and the code of combat, even amid overwhelming force.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadfastness under pressure: even after being restrained, a fighter regains composure and re-engages. Ethically, it reflects the battlefield norm of resilience and counter-action, while also reminding readers how quickly violence renews itself when pride and survival dominate.

Sañjaya reports that Jāṭāsura’s son breaks free from Ghaṭotkaca’s hold, stands up again, and immediately charges at him with great speed, continuing the fierce close-quarters combat.
