Sañjaya said: Seeing Droṇa—the bull among Brahmins—checked and held back by the young warrior, a loud lion-roar rose from the Pāṇḍava host, and people cried out, “Well done! Well done!” The moment underscores how, even amid war, the army publicly affirms valor and timely restraint against a formidable elder-teacher, treating the act as both strategic and worthy of praise.

Sañjaya reports that Droṇa, a formidable Brahmin-warrior, is stopped/held back by a young fighter. Witnessing this, the Pāṇḍava forces raise a triumphant lion-roar and shout ‘Well done!’ in celebration of the feat.
