Why Karṇa’s Śakti Was Not Used on Arjuna
tataḥ sutās te varuṇātmajopamā ruṣānvitāḥ saha guruṇā mahātmanā | vṛkodaraṁ sa-ratha-padāti-kuñjarā yuyutsavo bhūśam abhiparyavārayan ||
Sañjaya said: Then your sons—mighty like the son of Varuṇa—filled with wrath and eager to fight, advanced together with the great-souled teacher Droṇa, bringing chariots, infantry, and elephants; and with swift force they surrounded Bhīmasena on all sides. The scene underscores how anger and the thirst for victory can drive a collective to encircle a single formidable foe, intensifying the moral pressure and peril within the battlefield’s code.
