Sanjaya said: “And you too, Duryodhana—if you have the strength—protect the army. For the Kurus and the Sṛñjayas, inflamed with wrath, will fight even through the night.”
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores wartime leadership and vigilance: a commander must safeguard the army and remain prepared even beyond conventional limits, because anger and momentum can drive combat to continue through the night.
Sanjaya warns Duryodhana that both sides—Kurus and Sṛñjayas—are so enraged that they will continue fighting even at night, and he urges Duryodhana to protect and hold together his forces under these dangerous conditions.
