अब्रवीद्‌ वासुदेवं च पाण्डवं च धनंजयम्‌ | फिर उनके कमलके समान कान्तिमान्‌ सुन्दर मुखपर हाथ फेरते हुए वे वसुदेवनन्दन श्रीकृष्ण और पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुनसे इस प्रकार बोले--,हन्यन्ते निहताश्चैव विनड्क्ष्यन्ति च भारत । तव क्रोधहता होते कौरवा: शत्रुसूदन “भारत! शत्रुसूदन! ये सारे कौरव आपके क्रोधसे ही नष्ट होकर मारे गये हैं, मारे जाते हैं और भविष्यमें भी मारे जायँगे

sañjaya uvāca |

abravīd vāsudevaṃ ca pāṇḍavaṃ ca dhanañjayam |

hanyante nihatāś caiva vinaśyanti ca bhārata |

tava krodha-hatā hote kauravāḥ śatru-sūdana ||

Sañjaya said: Then he addressed Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) and the Pāṇḍava Dhanañjaya (Arjuna): “O Bhārata! O slayer of foes! These Kauravas, struck down by your wrath, are being killed, have been killed, and will be utterly destroyed.” The utterance frames the carnage as the inevitable consequence of a warrior’s unleashed anger in a dharmic war, warning how krodha (wrath) becomes a decisive moral and causal force on the battlefield.
