Sañjaya said: Sātyaki, a scorcher of foes, was equal in prowess to the two Kṛṣṇas (Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna). He overcame all your forces as though laughing—signaling not mere strength, but the confident momentum of a warrior fighting with unwavering resolve amid the moral gravity of war.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how exceptional capability, when aligned with a clear cause and steady mind, can appear effortless (“as if laughing”). It also underscores the epic’s ethical tension: even dazzling victory occurs within the heavy moral landscape of fratricidal war.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Sātyaki fought with prowess comparable to Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, and that he routed the Kaurava forces with striking ease and confidence.
