Sañjaya said: Then Arjuna too, the mighty-armed, having slain the Saindhava king, engaged your foremost chariot-warriors in battle. The verse underscores the moral intensity of the moment: after exacting retribution for a pivotal wrong, Arjuna turns immediately to the wider duty of combat, pressing the war forward without pause.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in its stark form: once a decisive act of justice/retribution is completed (the slaying of Jayadratha), the warrior must still uphold duty on the battlefield—meeting the opposing army directly and without hesitation.
After killing the Saindhava king (Jayadratha), Arjuna immediately turns to fight the leading Kaurava chariot-warriors, intensifying the battle in the aftermath of that pivotal death.
