शरै: कदम्बकीकृत्य काले तस्मिंश्व पाण्डव: । योधयामास तांश्वैव पाण्डव: षण्महारथान्,उस समय पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुने एकके बाद एक करके अनेक बाण मारकर उस मस्तकको कदम्बके फूल-सा बना दिया। साथ ही वे पूर्वोक्त छ: महारथियोंसे युद्ध भी करते रहे
sañjaya uvāca | śaraiḥ kadambakīkṛtya kāle tasmiṃś ca pāṇḍavaḥ | yodhayāmāsa tāṃś caiva pāṇḍavaḥ ṣaṇmahārathān ||
Sañjaya said: At that moment, the Pāṇḍava (Arjuna), striking again and again with his arrows, so covered the target’s head with shafts that it looked like a kadamba blossom. Even while doing so, he continued to engage in combat with those same six great chariot-warriors, holding to the warrior’s duty of steadfastness amid the press of battle.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: unwavering focus and endurance in battle—maintaining composure and effectiveness even when facing multiple elite opponents at once.
Sañjaya describes Arjuna’s rapid archery: he showers arrows so densely that the struck head appears like a kadamba blossom, while simultaneously continuing his fight against six great chariot-warriors.
