Educational Q&A

Even amid the violence of war, extraordinary self-restraint and steadfastness to a chosen vow can be regarded as morally weighty; such conduct becomes worthy of reverence and remembrance, independent of victory or defeat.

Sañjaya reports that after Bhūriśravas is slain while undertaking prāyopaveśana on the battlefield, celestial beings (Siddhas, Cāraṇas) along with humans and gods extol him, amazed at the greatness of his deeds.
