Thus addressed amid the clash of battle, Pārtha (Arjuna) replied to Bhūriśravas. The exchange frames a moral tension within warfare: even in the heat of combat, words and intent matter, and a warrior’s response is shaped by duty (dharma), honor, and the immediate ethical stakes of the battlefield.
भूरिश्रवा उवाच
Even in war, speech and response are governed by dharma: a warrior’s words are not mere reaction but an ethical stance shaped by honor, duty, and the consequences of action in a morally charged battlefield.
After Bhūriśravas speaks, Arjuna (Pārtha) responds to him in the midst of battle, marking a direct verbal exchange between the two combatants within the Drona Parva war narrative.
