Sañjaya said: There your sons witnessed Bhīmasena’s astonishing prowess—how, with well-feathered arrows, he advanced and covered Karṇa on every side with a dense shower of shafts. The verse highlights that in righteous warfare (kṣatriya-dharma), true valor is demonstrated through disciplined action and steadfast advance, not mere reputation. It also reminds the listener that outcomes in war arise from accumulated choices and alliances—one’s side must face the consequences of the strengths it confronts.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kauravas saw Bhīma’s extraordinary feat: Bhīma advanced and overwhelmed Karṇa by covering him with a thick volley of well-fletched arrows, visually ‘concealing’ him under the rain of shafts.
