द्रौणि-पार्षतयोर्युद्धम् | The Duel of Aśvatthāmā

छित्त्वा भीमो महाराज नादं सिंह इवानदत्‌ | तौ वृषाविव नर्दन्तौ बलिनौ वासितान्तरे

chittvā bhīmo mahārāja nādaṃ siṃha ivānadat | tau vṛṣāv iva nardantau balinau vāsitāntare ||

Having struck down (his foe), Bhīma, O King, roared like a lion. The two mighty warriors then bellowed like enraged bulls, filling the space between the armies with their thunderous cries—an image of martial ferocity that underscores how pride, wrath, and valor surge together in the ethics of war, where courage is praised even as violence escalates.
