Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
संजय उवाच एतावदुक्त्वा प्रययौ परिदाय युधिष्ठटिरम् । धृष्टद्युम्नाय बलवान् सुहृद्धयश्न पुन: पुनः:,संजय कहते हैं--राजन्! ऐसा कहकर बलवान भीमसेन राजा युधिष्ठिरको धृष्टद्युम्न तथा अन्य सुहृदोंकी देख-रेखमें सौंपकर वहाँसे चल दिये
sañjaya uvāca | etāvad uktvā prayayau paridāya yudhiṣṭhiram | dhṛṣṭadyumnāya balavān suhṛdbhyaś ca punaḥ punaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: “O King, having said only this much, the mighty Bhīmasena departed, after entrusting King Yudhiṣṭhira to Dhṛṣṭadyumna and to the other well-wishing friends again and again.” The verse underscores a wartime ethic of care: even amid urgency, a leader ensures the vulnerable are placed under trusted protection before moving on.
