द्रौपदी च सुभद्रा च पश्यन्त्यौ सह बन्धुभि: | “आज अवश्य ही माता कुन्ती किसी दुःखद अपशकुनकी चर्चा करती होंगी। बन्धुओंसहित द्रौपदी और सुभद्रा भी कोई असगुन देख रही होंगी ।। २३ डक स भीम त्वरया युक्तो याहि यत्र धनंजय:,“अतः भीम! तुम तुरंत ही जहाँ अर्जुन हैं, वहाँ जाओ। आज अर्जुनको देखनेके लिये मेरी सारी दिशाएँ मोहाच्छन्न-सी हो रही हैं। सात्यकिको न देख पानेके कारण भी मेरे लिये सारी दिशाओंमें अँधेरा छा गया है”
draūpadī ca subhadrā ca paśyantyau saha bandhubhiḥ |

संजय उवाच

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Draupadī and Subhadrā, along with their relatives, are watching and sensing inauspicious signs—an atmosphere of foreboding as the battle’s outcome and the fate of loved ones (especially Arjuna and the Pāṇḍavas) hangs in uncertainty.
