सात्यकिश्न हि विज्ञेय: पाण्डवश्न धनंजय: । सात्यकिं प्रेषयित्वा तु पाण्डवस्य पदानुगम्
sātyakiś ca hi vijñeyaḥ pāṇḍavaś ca dhanañjayaḥ | sātyakiṃ preṣayitvā tu pāṇḍavasya padānugam ||
Sañjaya said: Know that Sātyaki is indeed there, and the Pāṇḍava Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) as well. Having dispatched Sātyaki, Arjuna then followed in his footsteps—moving in loyal pursuit of his ally amid the press of war.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined coordination in righteous struggle: a leader assigns a capable ally and then follows through, showing responsibility, loyalty, and strategic clarity rather than acting impulsively.
Sañjaya informs Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Sātyaki and Arjuna are present; Arjuna sends Sātyaki ahead on a task and then proceeds after him, following his track in the unfolding battle.
