Sañjaya said: Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Droṇa Parva—specifically in the section concerning the slaying of Jayadratha—the one hundred and twenty-second chapter concludes, describing Sātyaki’s entry into the battle and the prowess of Droṇācārya. The closing formula underscores the epic’s moral frame: even amid relentless warfare, the narrative keeps attention on duty, leadership, and the consequences of martial power.

As a colophon-style conclusion, the verse highlights how the epic frames battlefield events within a moral narrative: valor and command (Droṇa’s prowess) are recorded alongside the unfolding of duty-bound action (Sātyaki’s entry), reminding the reader that martial excellence is ethically consequential and not merely spectacular.
This is the chapter-ending notice: it states that, within the Droṇa Parva and the Jayadratha-slaying section, the chapter describing Sātyaki’s entry into the fray and Droṇācārya’s feats has concluded (chapter 122).
