जयद्रथवधः — The Slaying of Jayadratha

Sunset Vow and Curse-Condition

शरबाणासनधरा यवनाश्ष प्रहारिण: । शका: किराता दरदा बर्बरास्ताम्रलिप्तका:

śarabāṇāsanadharā yavanāś ca prahāriṇaḥ | śakāḥ kirātā daradā barbarās tāmrālipṭakāḥ ||

Sūta said: “There were warriors bearing bows and arrows—Yavanas, fierce in assault; Śakas, Kirātas, Daradas, Barbarians, and the people of Tāmrālipta.” The verse underscores how the war drew in many frontier and foreign groups, emphasizing the vast, multi-ethnic scale of the conflict and the moral weight of a battle that engulfed all directions.
