शरैरनलसंकाशैरनिन्ये वीरान् यमक्षयम् | राजेन्द्र! तदनन्तर विभिन्न जनपदोंके स्वामी अन्यान्य वीर राजाओंको भी उन्होंने अपने अग्निसदृश बाणोंद्वारा यमलोक पहुँचा दिया
śarair analasaṅkāśair aninye vīrān yamakṣayam | rājendra! tad-anantaraṁ bhinna-janapadānāṁ svāmī anyān-anya vīra-rājān api teṣām agni-sadṛśa-bāṇair yama-lokaṁ prāpayām āsa ||
Sañjaya said: With arrows blazing like fire, he sent the warriors to Yama’s imperishable realm. O best of kings, thereafter he also dispatched other heroic rulers—lords of various provinces—by means of those fire-like shafts, driving the battle onward with relentless, lethal force.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the stark moral gravity of war: heroic prowess expressed through fiery weapons culminates in death, reminding the listener that battlefield glory is inseparable from irreversible consequence.
Sañjaya reports that a powerful combatant is cutting down warriors and then other provincial kings as well, sending them to Yama’s realm with blazing, fire-like arrows—indicating a decisive and deadly phase of the battle.
