Transliteration

anīkaṃ samavetānāṃ dhūmravarṇam udīryate

Translation

Sañjaya said: From the massed ranks of the assembled warriors, a smoke-hued cloud rose up—an ominous sign of the battle’s gathering fury and the moral darkness that war inevitably stirs.
