Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 109 — Karṇa–Bhīma Yuddha and Durmukha’s Fall (कर्णभीमयुद्धम्; दुर्मुखवधः)

kṣemadhūrtis tu saṃkruddhaḥ kaikeyasya mahātmanaḥ | dhanuś ciccheda bhalleṇa pītena niśitena ha ||

Sañjaya said: Enraged, Kṣemadhūrti struck at the great-souled king of the Kaikeyas and, with a gleaming, razor-sharp bhalla arrow, cut his bow in two. The episode underscores how wrath in battle seeks not only to wound but to disable an opponent’s capacity to fight, turning skill into sudden helplessness.
