तत् तु पार्थस्य विक्रान्तं वासुदेवस्थ चो भयो: । अपूजयन् महाराज कौरवा महदद्भुतम्,महाराज! अर्जुन और भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण दोनोंके उस अत्यन्त अद्भुत पराक्रमकी समस्त कौरवोंने भूरि-भूरि प्रशंसा की
tat tu pārthasya vikrāntaṃ vāsudevasya ca ubhayoḥ | apūjayan mahārāja kauravā mahad-adbhutam ||
Sañjaya said: “But, O King, the Kauravas openly acclaimed that truly wondrous display of valor shown by both Pārtha (Arjuna) and Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa).” In the midst of war, even opponents are compelled to honor extraordinary prowess, revealing a momentary recognition of merit beyond factional hatred.
संजय उवाच
Even amid enmity, excellence and extraordinary courage can command respect. The verse highlights an ethical impulse to acknowledge merit (guṇa) irrespective of sides, suggesting that dharmic discernment can momentarily rise above partisan hostility.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kaurava warriors, witnessing a remarkable feat in battle, praised the astonishing valor displayed by both Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa.
