Sañjaya said: Though the assembled kings poured down a rain of arrows upon Arjuna, the son of Pāṇḍu, the righteous Pārtha—Indra’s son, a destroyer of hostile champions—was not in the least shaken. That mighty warrior swallowed up those incoming nets of arrows, and the maces and spears as well, just as the ocean receives the rivers.

The verse highlights dharmic steadiness under pressure: a righteous warrior does not lose composure amid overwhelming assault, but meets it with disciplined strength and inner firmness.
Many kings unleash a dense barrage of arrows at Arjuna; yet he remains untroubled and effectively neutralizes the incoming missiles and weapons, compared to the ocean calmly receiving rivers.
