द्रोणेन केकय-चेदि-वीरवधः
Droṇa’s engagements with the Kekayas and Cedis
मम त्वनन्तरं कृत्यं यद् वै तत् त्वं निबोध मे । हयान् विमुच्य हि सुखं विशल्यान् कुरु माधव,“माधव! मेरी दृष्टिमें इस समय जो कर्तव्य है, वह बताता हूँ, आप मुझसे सुनिये। घोड़ोंको खोलकर इन्हें सुख पहुँचानेके लिये इनके शरीरसे बाण निकाल दीजिये”
mama tv anantaraṃ kṛtyaṃ yad vai tat tvaṃ nibodha me | hayān vimucya hi sukhaṃ viśalyān kuru mādhava ||
Sañjaya said: “Now learn from me what should be done immediately. O Mādhava, unharness the horses, and for their comfort remove the arrows from their bodies.”
संजय उवाच
Even amid warfare, dharma includes immediate, practical compassion: relieving suffering and fulfilling urgent duty—here, caring for the wounded horses by unharnessing them and removing arrows.
Sañjaya addresses Mādhava (Kṛṣṇa), advising the next necessary action: release the horses from the chariot and extract the arrows from their bodies so they may be eased and tended.
