Sañjaya said: “Raising himself to strike, the mighty-armed warrior—intent on killing—advanced against your son.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how inner intention (jighāṁsuḥ—‘intent on killing’) drives outward action in war; it implicitly warns that choices made in anger or vengeance carry grave ethical weight and consequences, even when framed within kṣatriya combat.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a powerful warrior has risen to attack, preparing to strike with lethal intent, and is moving against Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son in the battle context.
