भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

Bhīṣma checks Bhīmasena; matched engagements intensify

पृथिवी निर्भया देव त्वत्प्रसादात्‌ू सदाभवत्‌ । तस्माद्‌ भव विशालाक्ष यदुवंशविवर्धन:,देव! आपके ही प्रसादसे पृथ्वी सदा निर्भय रही है, इसलिये विशाललोचन! आप पुनः पृथ्वीपर यदुवंशमें अवतार लेकर उसकी कीर्ति बढ़ाइये

pṛthivī nirbhayā deva tvatprasādāt sadābhavat | tasmād bhava viśālākṣa yaduvaṁśavivardhanaḥ ||

Bhīṣma said: “O Lord, by your grace the earth has always remained free from fear. Therefore, O wide‑eyed one, become again the increaser of the Yadu line—take birth on earth once more and augment its renown.”
