Arjuna’s Advance toward Bhīṣma; The Gāṇḍīva’s Signal and the Armies’ Convergence (भीष्माभिमुखगमनम् — गाण्डीवनिर्घोष-ध्वजवर्णनम्)
तस्मान्ममाश्चान् संग्रामे यत्त: संयच्छ सारथे । “उसके कुलीन और मदोन्मत्त भाई भी वहीं कवच बाँधकर खड़े हैं। आज तुम्हारे देखते-देखते मैं इन सबका विनाश करूँगा, इसमें संशय नहीं है। अतः सारथे! तुम सावधान होकर संग्राममें मेरे घोड़ोंको काबूमें रखो” || १३ ह ।। एवमुक्क्त्वा तत: पार्थस्तव पुत्र विशाम्पते,राजन्! ऐसा कहकर कुन्तीकुमार भीमने स्वर्णभूषित दस तीखे बाणोंद्वारा आपके पुत्र दुर्योधनको बींध डाला और नन््दककी छातीमें भी तीन बाणोंसे गहरी चोट पहुँचायी
sañjaya uvāca | tasmān mamāśvān saṅgrāme yattaḥ saṃyaccha sārathi |
Sañjaya said: “Therefore, O charioteer, be fully alert in the battle and keep my horses firmly under control.” In the surrounding narrative, the warrior’s command to his driver underscores disciplined action amid fury—victory is sought not by rage alone, but by mastery of one’s means (the chariot and horses) and steady resolve in war.
