द्रष्ट भागीरथीं गद्ञामुवास बहुला: समा: । उसीके पास विशाल, दिव्य, उज्ज्वल तथा कांचनमयी बालुकासे सुशोभित रमणीय बिन्दुसरोवर है, जहाँ राजा भगीरथने भागीरथी गंगाका दर्शन करनेके लिये बहुत वर्षोतक निवास किया था
draṣṭuṁ bhāgīrathīṁ gaṅgām uvāsa bahulāḥ samāḥ | tasyaiva samīpe viśālaṁ divyaṁ ujjvalaṁ ca kāñcanamayī-bālukābhiḥ suśobhitaṁ ramaṇīyaṁ bindusarovaraṁ asti, yatra rājā bhagīratho bhāgīrathī-gaṅgā-darśanārthaṁ bahūn varṣān nyavasat |
Sañjaya said: Wishing to behold the Bhāgīrathī Gaṅgā, he lived there for many years. Nearby lies the delightful lake called Bindusaras—vast, divine, radiant, and beautified by golden sands—where King Bhagīratha long resided in austerity and devotion, intent on gaining the vision of the sacred river. The passage underscores steadfast perseverance and reverence for holy purpose as a form of dharma.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic perseverance: sustained effort, self-discipline, and devotion toward a sacred goal (darśana of the holy Gaṅgā) are presented as ennobling and spiritually efficacious.
Sañjaya describes a sacred locale near Bindusaras lake and recounts that King Bhagīratha lived there for many years, undertaking prolonged residence and practice with the aim of beholding the Bhāgīrathī Gaṅgā.
