भीष्मविक्रमदर्शनं तथा क्रौञ्चारुणव्यूहविधानम् | Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation
एतान्यपि तु कर्माणि सड़ूं त्यक्त्वा फलानि च | कर्तव्यानीति मे पार्थ निश्चितं मतमुत्तमम्,इसलिये हे पार्थ! इन यज्ञ, दान और तपरूप कर्मोंको तथा और भी सम्पूर्ण कर्तव्यकर्मोंकी आसक्ति और फलोंका त्याग करके अवश्य करना चाहिये; यह मेरा निश्चय किया हुआ उत्तम मत है+.
etāny api tu karmāṇi saṅgaṃ tyaktvā phalāni ca | kartavyānīti me pārtha niścitaṃ matam uttamam ||
Even these acts—such as sacrifice, charity, and austerity—should indeed be performed, but with attachment abandoned and with the fruits relinquished. This, O Partha, is my firmly settled and highest judgment: that one must do one’s obligatory duties without clinging to outcomes.
