The Lord instructs Arjuna to gather the whole inner life into divine remembrance: “Fix your mind on Me alone; place your understanding in Me. Then, from that point onward, you will dwell in Me—of this there is no doubt.” Ethically, the verse frames devotion not as escape from duty but as the inner discipline that steadies judgment and intention, so action can proceed without confusion, fear, or wavering.
अजुन उवाच
Single-pointed devotion: concentrate both mind (manas) and discernment (buddhi) in the Lord. When attention and judgment are anchored in the divine, abiding steadiness arises and doubt falls away.
In the Bhishma Parva’s Bhagavad Gita setting, Krishna continues guiding Arjuna on the battlefield. After discussing modes of worship and spiritual approach, he gives a direct practical command: internalize devotion by fixing mind and intellect on him, assuring Arjuna of unwavering spiritual abiding.
