भीमसेनस्य बहुमहारथसंयुगः

स सिंह इव मातज़ूं यूथर्षभ इवर्षभम् | अभिदु॒द्राव वेगेन विनदन् यादवर्षभ:,यादवशिरोमणि बारंबार गर्जना करते हुए भीष्मके ऊपर उसी प्रकार वेगसे धावा कर रहे थे, जैसे सिंह गजराजपर और गोयूथका स्वामी साँड़ दूसरे साँड़पर आक्रमण करता है
sa siṁha iva mātaṅgaṁ yūtharṣabha ivarṣabham | abhidudrāva vegena vinadan yādavarṣabhaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: The foremost of the Yādavas, roaring again and again, charged at Bhīṣma with swift force—like a lion rushing upon a lordly elephant, or like the leader of a herd of bulls attacking another bull. The verse heightens the battlefield ethic of fearless valor and unwavering resolve, portraying the attacker’s martial duty (kṣātra-dharma) as direct, unhesitating confrontation with a mighty elder-warrior.
