A ritual offering is governed by intention (saṅkalpa): what is vowed for the Pitṛs belongs to them. Ethical action requires honoring the declared purpose of an offering and recognizing the rightful recipients.
The speaker clarifies that the milk has been consecrated by a specific ritual intention directed to the Pitṛs; therefore, they are its proper claimants. The listener is instructed to go and learn/confirm the matter from the Pitṛs themselves.
