इत्युक्तस्तदनादृत्य वाक्यमज्ञानमोहित: । स शक्रसमकर्माणं समवाकिरदाशुगै:,उनके ऐसा कहनेपर भी वह अज्ञानसे मोहित होनेके कारण उनकी बातकी अवहेलना करके इन्द्रके समान पराक्रमी अर्जुनपर शीघ्रगामी बाणोंकी वर्षा करने लगा
ity uktas tad anādṛtya vākyam ajñāna-mohitaḥ | sa śakra-sama-karmāṇaṃ samavākirad āśugaiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Though thus addressed, he—deluded by ignorance—disregarded their counsel and, instead, showered swift-flying arrows upon Arjuna, whose prowess in action was equal to Indra’s. The passage underscores how heedlessness born of delusion drives one to escalate violence even when restraint is advised.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Delusion born of ignorance (ajñāna-moha) leads a person to dismiss wise counsel and choose escalation; ethical clarity requires honoring guidance that restrains harm.
After being advised or addressed, the unnamed opponent ignores the words and attacks Arjuna—described as Indra-like in prowess—by raining swift arrows upon him.
