Vaiśampāyana said: The splendid chariot had been fully outfitted with every implement of war. It was yoked to horses swift as the mind, and it stood ready with its wheels and all necessary equipment. Adorned with golden fittings and refined with vessels of gold, it shone with royal magnificence—prepared for the righteous contest that was about to unfold, where a king would advance to meet Arjuna in accordance with duty and honor.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma through disciplined readiness: power and wealth (golden adornments, swift horses) are presented not for vanity but to meet a duty-bound confrontation with proper preparation and honor.

Vaiśampāyana describes a magnificently equipped chariot—fully prepared with war-gear and mind-swift horses—signaling that a royal warrior is about to advance to face Arjuna in the Aśvamedha-related episode.
