Chapter 6

देवर्षिणा समागम्य नारदेन स पार्थिव: । विधिवत्‌ प्राउ्जलिस्तस्थावथैनं नारदो<ब्रवीत्‌,देवर्षि नारदके साथ समागम होनेपर राजा मरुत्त यथाविधि हाथ जोड़कर खड़े हो गये। तब नारदजीने उनसे कहा--

devarṣiṇā samāgamya nāradena sa pārthivaḥ | vidhivat prāñjalistasthāv athainaṃ nārado 'bravīt ||

Vyāsa said: Having met the divine seer Nārada, the king stood before him with joined palms in the proper manner, observing due reverence. Then Nārada addressed him—setting a tone of disciplined humility and respectful inquiry that frames what follows.
