upāyāntaṃ tu vārṣṇeyaṃ bhojavṛṣṇyandhakās tathā
Vaiśampāyana said: As Kṛṣṇa of the Vṛṣṇi line was approaching, the Bhojas, Vṛṣṇis, and Andhakas also came forward—gathering to hear and receive the account of the Mahābhārata as he related it to his parents and elders, reaffirming kinship, memory, and dharma through shared narration.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of shared remembrance: dharma is preserved not only through deeds but through truthful narration and communal listening, which strengthens family bonds, lineage identity, and moral continuity after conflict.
As Kṛṣṇa approaches, the Yādava-related clans—the Bhojas, Vṛṣṇis, and Andhakas—also assemble. The context indicates a setting where Kṛṣṇa is recounting the Mahābhārata events to his parents and elders, and the wider community gathers around this transmission.
